Everybody seems to have a mission statement these days, so here's mine: I want to live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way. I want to bear fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of who He is. (This is really Colossians 1:10 restated.)
But there's more to the story: In the past four years, God has clarified that mission so much! Let me explain: Four years ago I went on my first short-term mission trip to the Dominican Republic. It changed my life beyond description, and God clearly called me to two things as a result of that trip:
- To work with all of His strength to help further the work of reaching the lost and helping the poor (that's why all the proceeds from the sale of the new CD go to missions).
- To encourage as many Christians as possible to experience the reality of true missions by going on a short-term mission trip.
