July 29th Dinner

Don't miss the Dinner concert on July 29! Kim will be sharing selections from his soon to be released CD "Draw Me Close" and some meditations from Psalm 23 in a concert hosted by the Pittsburgh men's ministry known as the "White Fields Foundation". "This is a great opportunity to get out with your spouse and enjoy food, fellowship and some heartwarming music and a message of encouragement", says Kim. New Album

Finally . . . a new recording! After ten years of waiting, Kim has gone back into the studio to record a new CD. For many reasons, it has been a long time between recordings. "One of the most important lessons I have learned during this time is that God is never in a hurry. He thinks nothing of taking 40 years of a man's life if it will produce in that man the desired result. That sounds fine until you spend a few years experiencing that truth", says Kim. Then you realize — I'm AWAYS in a hurry. I live in an instant society with quick everything. So hurry up, God! What a blessing it is to learn to wait upon Him. The peace that he grants is directly connected to learning to "Be still" and wait upon God."

Kim hopes that the time of waiting has allowed the music selection to "season" and be refined into something that will be meaningful to the listener. "The project is a collection of material that I have played and listened to over the years. These are songs that have allowed me to spiritually draw near to God."

While not all of the songs are overtly Christian, they all have messages which honor the message of Jesus. For example, "Somewhere over the Rainbow" is that classic song from the Wizard of Oz — and it really speaks to me about the longing in our heart for a place with "more". That more is heaven — and it is found in Jesus.

Other songs are traditional praise choruses, like: "Draw Me Close To You", "The Power of Your Love", and "Breathe".

There are also a few Latin songs which come out of the mission work that Kim has been a part of in the Dominican Republic. "I've always loved Latin songs and this has been a bridge that has allowed me to connect musically with the people of the Dominican Republic.

The release date is sometime in the fall of 2010 — check back soon!
